HERMEL, Liban — Hiljade šiitskih muslimana koji su pobegli iz Sirije nakon što je vlada bivšeg predsednika Bashara Assada srušena u ofanzivi sunitskih pobunjenika u decembru 2024. pronašle su novi dom u Libanu.
Kompleks i uslovi
Mnogi od izbeglica prvobitno su boravili u džamijama, školama ili kod rođaka dok krajem 2025. nije otvoren stambeni kompleks Imam Ali. Kamp se nalazi u severoistočnom libanskom gradu Hermelu i ima gotovo 230 stambenih jedinica.
Finansiranje i sastav stanovništva
Kompleks je finansiran delimično od strane libanskog šiitskog pokreta Hezbolah i šiitskih verskih institucija iz Iraka i Irana. U kampu sada žive i proterani Sirijci i lokalni Libanci, što ilustruje kako se posledice sukoba u susednoj zemlji prelivaju i utiču na zajednice u Libanu.

Otvaranje kampa ukazuje na kontinuiranu humanitarnu krizu i potrebe za smeštajem i pomoći za raseljene osobe nakon velikih političkih promena u Siriji. Mešovito stanovanje Sirijaca i Libanaca može pružiti privremeno rešenje za potrebu za domom, ali istovremeno otvara pitanja o integraciji, pristupu osnovnim uslugama i mogućim političkim napetostima u regionu.
