Elon Musk je 26. januara na platformi X objavio fotografiju Starshipa uz poruku: "Starship launch in 6 weeks". Iako SpaceX nije izdao zvaničan datum, ova poruka ukazuje da bi naredni testni let, označen kao "let 12", mogao da se dogodi već početkom marta — teoretski oko 9. marta.
Starship, kada je potpuno sastavljen, dostiže više od 400 stopa visine (Verzija 3 je oko 408 stopa) i smatra se najvećim i najmoćnijim lansirnim sistemom na svetu. Integrisani sistem čine donja faza, Super Heavy, koja obezbeđuje glavnu potisnu snagu pri poletanju, i gornja faza nazvana Starship, namenjena za posadu i teret.
U 2025. SpaceX je izveo pet testnih letova Starshipa: prva tri su završila eksplozijama pre ispunjenja ključnih ciljeva, dok su poslednja dva lansiranja u avgustu i oktobru bila uspešna. Šta donosi Verzija 3
Prema Musku, Verzija 3 bi trebalo da bude nešto veća i znatno snažnija od prethodne verzije. Najvažniji cilj za V3 je postizanje orbite i izvođenje dopune goriva u svemiru — složen manever koji zahteva susret i dokovanje dva Starshipa kako bi se prenelo stotine tona jako rashlađenog propelenta. Ova sposobnost je ključna za daleke misije, uključujući podršku NASA-inom Artemis programu i planove za misije na Mars.
Neizvesnosti i sledeći koraci
Važno je naglasiti da su rokovi u svemirskoj industriji često podložni promenama zbog tehničkih testova, regulatornih odobrenja i spremnosti lansirne infrastrukture. SpaceX obično naknadno objavljuje zvanične ciljne datume, pa je moguće da će početni plan biti pomeren dok se ne potvrde svi preleti i sigurnosne provere.
