Kolekcija od 133 boce vina iz kasnog 19. veka, decenijama skrivena pod podom kapele u zamku Becov nad Teplou, pažljivo je restaurirana i postavljena na javnu izložbu. Većina boca datira iz perioda 1892–1899, a njihovo očuvanje i istorija privukli su pažnju ljubitelja vina i istorije.
O otkriću i istorijskoj pozadini
Boče su pronađene 1985. godine na mestu gde su ih, krajem Drugog svetskog rata, sakrili tadašnji vlasnici zamka — porodica Beaufort-Spontin. Porodica je boce sakrila pored relikvijara Svetog Maurusa, za koji se tvrdi da sadrži ostatke Svetog Jovana Krstitelja, pre nego što su pobegli u Austriju.
Restauracija i provera kvaliteta
Prestižna francuska vinarija Château d’Yquem preuzela je restauraciju kolekcije. Toni El Khawand, glavni podrumski majstor Château d’Yquema, objasnio je da su podzemni, hladni i vlažni uslovi stare kapele — debeli zidovi i stabilna temperatura — bili izuzetno pogodni za očuvanje vina.
„Imalo je veoma dobre uslove konzervacije — verovatno vrlo vlažno i hladno, sa debelim zidovima i pod zemljom, što je održavalo vlagu i temperaturu veoma stabilnim. To su bili odlični uslovi za čuvanje vina,“ rekao je El Khawand.
Kvalitet vina potvrđen je 2016. godine testiranjem pomoću uređaja Coravin, koji omogućava vađenje uzorka kroz iglu bez vađenja čepa. Chateau d’Yquem je delimično recorkovao nekoliko boca, vodeći računa o autentičnosti — čak su sačuvali i prašinu na bocama kao svedočanstvo njihove istorije.
Kako je došlo do pronalaska
Godine 1984. porodica Beaufort-Spontin je angažovala američkog biznismena Dannyja Douglasa da joj pomogne u povraćaju skrivenog blaga. Douglas je podneo tajni zahtev za preuzimanje nepoznatog predmeta sa nepoznatog mesta; nakon razmene dopisa sa vlastima i policijske provere, otkrivena je lokacija i pronađena kolekcija.
Gde su boce sada
Sada su restaurirane boce izložene u zamku Becov nad Teplou, koji je ranije pripadao porodici Beaufort-Spontin. Izložba privlači posetioce zainteresovane za vinarsku istoriju, restauraciju i dramatičnu priču o skrivanju i ponovnom otkrivanju vrednosti.
